What is Vocate?
Vocate is the technological evolution of the university career center.
We give you the tools, guidance & support you need to better understand yourself and to succeed in landing the job you want. We then help you get a job by matching you with opportunities that match your passions.
How do you know which job
is right for me?
We understand that the job world can be intimidating and lack transparency, we've all been there. The short answer is: we get to know you. We find out what's important to you and learn about your strengths and improvement areas. We use data-science and psychology to better understand both seekers and employers. We use this understanding to bring the best possible matches and opportunities to you.
How do I use Vocate?
Just sign up. We will guide you through the process. Once we find a match we will reach out to you. It's really that simple.
Am I going to get spam mail?
Absolutely not. We will use your email to send you job opportunities, allow our community manager to talk to you, and occasionally send updates to you about Vocate. We promise we will never sell your email address to third parties. In fact, employers won't even see your email address unless you give us the okay.
Why is this free for me?
Employers pay us for the opportunity to work with you. Finding the right person for a particular job is time-consuming and difficult (and the cost of hiring the wrong person is very high) so employers compensate us to do the work for them.
Do I have to know what
I want to do?
Not at all. One of our main values is discovery, which includes discovering what career path is best for you. Our matching engine can help determine what internship may work best for you based on your profile. In addition, our community managers are always available to talk, both in person or on the phone, to bounce ideas off of and give advice.
What if I don't have experience?
That's okay and why we exist. We're here to build your experience. Vocate knows that you are an individual and not just the work experience you've had. This allows us to form a complete picture about who you are and what kind of job would suit you.

We understand entry-level job seekers and employers at a deeper level. We're building a data driven system to better understand what type of individual will succeed in various positions. Our community managers get to know students and screen them for your unique needs.
How much does it cost me?
Our Basic Service is free and allows you to instantly access our large network of colleges, students and recent grads and to receive automated algorithmic candidate matches that you are welcome to screen, interview & hire, free of charge.
Our Premium Service is a monthly subscription offering. It allows you to outsource and streamline the process of finding, vetting and hiring entry-level candidates. We pre-screen and create custom matches for you, allowing you to cost effectively increase the leverage of your recruiting team. See our pricing page for more information.
Why should we pay you?
We take the headache and cost out of the student recruiting process. We make sure students are aware of your opportunity, screen students to create the best fit, and guide you through the onboarding process. Large organizations spend millions of dollars and countless man hours per year for HR functions to do what we can do better for a fraction of the price.
Why should I hire a student or recent grad?
Adding fresh young talent can provide a lot of value to your organization, injecting passion, tackling projects that you're struggling to complete, providing a fresh perspective on issues, and becoming brand advocates. If you choose to offer internships they can further lower your hiring costs by providing a trial period and reducing the likelihood of poor hires.
Do you work directly with school administrators?
Sometimes. Our core product does not require that schools participate. We work directly with students & recent grads and in most cases, have broader reach into the student community than a university’s career center. In some cases, schools have realized that we can be a powerful way for them to accomplish their goals and have chosen to collaborate with us as a customer.
How is Vocate different
from a head hunter?
We use deep technology to find only the best matches, resulting in significantly lower costs to you. Rather than go off hunches, we use data science to understand who the best fit for your company and position is.
